This 1967 SO-42 Westfalia camper van is being offer on behalf of one of our customers.
An expending family is forcing the sale of this treasured van.
The van is an original 1967 SO-42 Westfalia with a "turret top" pop top roof. The interior is complete with the exception of the water tank, that is with the van but damaged.
The van has been in the UK since 2003 after being imported from California. Spending it's last years in the Los Angeles where it was registered as an official residence.
Structurally the van is in good condition as it has been black wax treated. It is starting to go a little frilly around the edges. It will need sills both sides for an MOT. All the outriggers and chassis rails look to be solid. At some point in its past it had its rear wheel arches cut out for bigger wheels and then re-instated. There is now bubbling present on both rear wheel tubs and the bottoms of both cargo doors will need attention.
The cab doors, tailgate and engine lid are sound as is the roof and remaining body work. The engine is a good running 1500cc motor, complete with towbar and 12v Leisure battery system. Mechanically the van is in good condition, the brakes will need adjusting prior to an MOT.
The van has been parked for a year after the arrival of a new baby, but had been used extensively before then.
The asking price for the van as is £10,250 ono.
With the sill work done and an MOT the price is £12,250
Alternatively we can undertake to restore this van in a colour of your choice with new side panels and repairs to cargo doors to fix all rust issues starting from £19,000. Contact us to discuss.
